Bills to watch
- AB 105 / SB 130. Would have required age verification (government ID or transactional data) for websites where more than one-third of material is harmful to minors, enforced by private lawsuits for damages (creating Wis. Stat. § 100.76). As introduced it would also have required sites to block traffic from known VPN IP addresses; Senate Amendment 2 removed that on 2026-02-18. Vetoed by Gov. Evers 2026-04-03 (Assembly passed 69-22 on 2025-03-20; Senate concurred as amended 2026-02-18; Assembly concurred 2026-02-19). On 2026-05-13 it was recorded as failing to pass notwithstanding the veto under Joint Rule 82; no override vote was taken. Companion SB 130 failed 2026-03-23.
